10 Reasons to love hemp

1. Hemp fabric has been in use since the stone ages. Hemp fibre imprints are found in 10,000 years old Chinese pottery shards. Also, during 19th century hemp fibres were used for making ship-sails as hemp was found to be resistant to salt water.

2. Hemp is used for manufacturing more than 50,000 products such as fibres, biofuels, dietary supplements and also, plastics but biodegrable.

3. Garments made from hemp has a tendency to last longer from other natural fabrics. It is far most strongest, durable and elastic vegetable fibre. This strength and properties of hemp produces textile that gets softer with age and repeated washing, without losing integrity. 

4. Hemp clothing can absorb moisture up to 30% its weight and dries quickly. Most preferable for summer and outdoor clothing. Hemp clothing is also breathable, naturally moisture-retention and resistant to mold and fungi.  

5. Hemp consumes 4 times as much carbon dioxide as other trees do. It helps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by by capturing and holding carbon in vegetation and soil. 

6. One acre of hemp produces the same amount of paper as 4 acres of tree can in a year. Hemp paper is also very strong, resists decompositions and last longer.

7. Hemp seed is also a great alternative to meat as it can fulfill the human daily requirement for protein and essential nutrients such as magnesium, iron and zinc that our body is not able to produce on its own. 

8. Hemp fibre is also incredibly suitable and versatile to become a highly functional bio-plastics. It weights less and easier to mold hence, recyclable and biodegradable.

9. Hemp farming utilizes very less water, about half as much as cotton. A hemp tee and pants 80 gallons- which comes mainly from rainwater where, cotton approximately takes 5,280 gallons of water.
